Silver Contact Tips

Product Highlights
-Product Introduction
Electrical silver contact tips are the most widely used silver-based components in low-voltage electrical equipment. Among these, silver metal oxide contact tips — including AgSnO2, AgCuO, AgZnO, and AgCdO — hold a significant position within the electrical contact material system due to their excellent resistance to arc erosion, resistance to welding, and low and stable contact resistance.

Product Description

Silver metal oxide materials are usually processed into pieces and applied in the field of contactors with higher current levels, and then assembled by welding with copper contact bridges. Due to the poor wettability between silver metal oxide materials, solder, and copper alloy contact bridges, it is necessary to cover a pure silver layer on the welding surface as a transition layer during the processing to improve the welding strength and welding area between the contact and the bridge.

Silver contact tips are crucial components used in welding and electrical applications, primarily responsible for conducting current to the welding wire. They are often made using three main processes: alloy internal oxidation, pre-oxidation, and powder metallurgy. The alloy internal oxidation process improves the material's resistance to high temperatures, ensuring longevity. The pre-oxidation process enhances the material's strength and wear resistance by forming a protective layer. Finally, the powder metallurgy process involves compacting metal powders and heating them to create a durable and cost-effective part. These processes make contact tips highly conductive, durable, and resistant to wear, which is essential for achieving stable electrical performance and efficient energy transfer during welding.

Our electrical silver contact tips are available in many configurations and sizes to suit customer requirements. These tips can be made with high performance contact materials like silver tin oxide (AgSnO₂), silver tin oxide indium oxide (AgSnO₂-In₂O₃), silver nickel (AgNi), and silver zinc oxide (AgZnO). They can also be brazed on and are reliable in harsh conditions.

By combining advanced processes with multiple material options, our contact tips have excellent conductivity, wear resistance, and long life. Perfect for welding and other electrical applications.
