Bai Xiaoping at the Zhejiang Provincial Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers
Bai Xiaoping working in the workshop during his early career
After graduating from Xian Institute of Technology in 2001, Bai Xiaoping joined Fudar Alloy and began his career in the R&D of electrical contact materials. At that time, China's high-end electrical contact material products still relied heavily on imports, while key technologies faced significant barriers. From the beginning, Bai Xiaoping set a clear goal: to overcome technical bottlenecks and contribute to the development of high-end domestic materials capable of competing internationally.
Over the past 25 years, Bai Xiaoping has remained closely involved in both laboratory research and front-line production. Supported by Fudar Alloy's research and innovation system, he has led his team through repeated testing, validation, formulation refinement, parameter optimization, and process upgrading, contributing to major progress in key technologies for the electrical contact materials industry.

Driving Core Technology Breakthroughs
With strong insight into national strategic priorities and industry challenges, Bai Xiaoping has focused on key technological gaps in electrical contact materials. Over the years, he has undertaken 39 government-supported research projects, including the National Torch Program, Zhejiang Provincial Pioneer and Leading Goose R&D Program, and major provincial and municipal science and technology projects.
His work has produced important achievements aligned with the industry's transition toward greener, smarter, and more globalized development.
Breakthrough in High-End Import Substitution
Bai Xiaoping led
the R&D of environmentally friendly silver tin oxide (AgSnO₂) materials, achieving overall performance comparable to advanced international products. This achievement supported the localization of high-end electrical contact materials and has been widely used in automotive relay applications.
The project received the Second Prize of the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and has generated more than RMB 800 million in sales revenue over the past three years, helping China's electrical contact materials industry compete at a higher level globally.
Breakthrough in Cost Reduction and Green Innovation
In response to the challenge of limited precious metal resources, Bai Xiaoping led
the development of three major categories of precious-metal-saving materials, including new composite-layer contact materials. These innovations help reduce material costs, improve efficiency, and support resource recycling.
Over the past three years, related products have generated more than RMB 2 billion in sales revenue, supporting both green transformation and economic value creation.
Breakthrough in the New Energy Vehicle Sector
In line with China's national strategy for new energy development, Bai Xiaoping led early efforts to develop specialized electrical contact materials for new energy vehicles. These products are suitable for high-end applications such as energy management systems and fast-charging circuits, strengthening the supply of key materials for the new energy vehicle industry.
Over the past three years, related products have generated more than RMB 100 million in sales revenue, contributing to the development of the new energy sector.
